Forms of Air | About
Forms of Air is a one-member experimental music project. Started in early 2009, the project has produced two independently released stereo albums - Locality_14802 (2009) and Cloud Chases Cloud (2009). An additional Cloud Chases Cloud release in 5.1 Surround Sound is forthcoming on DVD. Physical copies of all releases are available for purchase in the Shop. Digital downloads of stereo mixes are available for sale here or at your favorite mp3 retailer.
A native of upstate New York, visual and sonic artist Rebekah Jarvis-Girtler is the face behind Forms of Air. Using portable recording equipment, she seeks the unnoticed and unusual within daily life, working in the studio to shape these sounds into compositions which draw inspiration from experimental electronic, ambient, and space music, as well as the history of collage and assemblage in the visual arts.
